1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Xplug.in ("Xplug.in", "we", "us", "our"), a plugin engineering studio based in Bengaluru, India, governing your access to and use of xplug.in and all pages, sub-pages, and product pages published under it (together, the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Site.
2. Eligibility
The Site is intended for business and professional use by system integrators, VMS vendors, hardware OEMs, security directors, and similar professional audiences. By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms, whether on your own behalf or on behalf of an organisation you represent.
3. Description of the Site
The Site is a marketing and informational website through which Xplug.in describes its custom plugin engineering services for enterprise video management systems (Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon, and other platforms), showcases in-development products (including XPlug.Vision, XPlug.SmartNotifier, and AlarmResponder), publishes technical articles, and provides a way for visitors to submit project briefs and enquiries. The Site does not itself provide a hosted software service, user accounts, or billing functionality.
4. The contact form and enquiries
Submitting the "Project brief" form or emailing us is an enquiry only — it does not, by itself, create any contract, engagement, exclusivity, or obligation on either party. A binding engagement for services (including scope, fees, deliverables, timelines, confidentiality, and intellectual property ownership or licensing) is only formed once both parties sign a separate written agreement, such as a master services agreement, statement of work, or order form. Nothing on the Site — including case studies, pricing ranges, timelines mentioned in FAQ content, or statements made during a discovery call — constitutes a binding offer or quotation unless expressly confirmed in a signed proposal.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when submitting an enquiry, and not to submit false, misleading, or spam content through the form.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the XPlug brand mark, page layouts, illustrations, diagrams, and the underlying HTML/CSS/JavaScript source of the Site itself — is owned by Xplug.in or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws, unless otherwise noted. Third-party trademarks referenced on the Site (including "Milestone," "XProtect," "MIP SDK," "Genetec," "Security Center," "Avigilon," "Bosch," "Axis," and similar marks) are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility and are not intended to imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation unless expressly stated (for example, where we describe an official partner status such as a Milestone Technology Partner or Genetec DAP participant).
Except as necessary to view the Site in a standard web browser, or as explicitly permitted below, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or exploit any part of the Site's content without our prior written consent. Illustrative code samples published in our technical articles (the "From the Lab" blog) are provided for educational reference; you may adapt small excerpts in your own development work at your own risk, but they are not licensed as a reusable software library and carry no warranty of any kind (see Section 11).
6. Acceptable use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its underlying systems, or any account, system, or network connected to it, including by probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Site outside the scope permitted by our Security Policy;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation, including by transmitting malware, overloading infrastructure, or engaging in denial-of-service activity;
- Submit the contact form for spam, phishing, unsolicited advertising, or automated/bulk submissions;
- Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to extract data from the Site at scale, except for standard, respectful search-engine indexing consistent with our
robots.txt; - Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate Xplug.in or any other person or entity; or
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from any in-development product demo, mockup, or interactive element on the Site beyond what is inherently visible as standard client-side HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
7. Product pages & in-development software
Pages describing XPlug.Vision, XPlug.SmartNotifier, AlarmResponder, or any other product marked "in development" describe products that may be in active design, beta, or pre-release status. Features, specifications, screenshots, mockups, performance figures, and availability described on those pages are illustrative, may change without notice, and do not constitute a guarantee of future functionality, release date, or general availability. Any early access, pilot, or NFR (Not-For-Resale) evaluation licence is subject to a separate agreement governing that specific access.
Interface mockups on the Site (including the "Security Desk" console and search-result previews) are simulated for illustration. Any camera imagery shown within them is synthetic — AI-generated or otherwise artificially produced — and does not depict a real camera feed, a real deployment, or any real, identifiable person, vehicle, or location. Any resemblance to an actual site, individual, or incident is coincidental.
8. Separate services engagements
Xplug.in's plugin development, integration, and certification services are delivered under individually negotiated agreements with each client. Nothing in these Terms modifies, supersedes, or overrides the terms of any signed services agreement between you (or your organisation) and Xplug.in. If any conflict arises between these Terms and a signed services agreement for a specific engagement, the signed agreement controls with respect to that engagement.
9. Testimonials & case studies
Testimonials, quotes, and case-study descriptions displayed on the Site reflect the individual views and experiences of the clients or individuals quoted at the time given, and results described (e.g. timelines, certification outcomes, production stability) are specific to that engagement. Past results do not guarantee similar results for any other project, and role or company descriptions may be generalised to preserve confidentiality.
10. Third-party links & services
The Site may link to or reference third-party websites, SDKs, marketplaces, or services (including Milestone's and Genetec's own developer portals and marketplaces) that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, terms, or practices of any third-party site or service, and linking to them does not imply endorsement. Your use of any third-party site or service is governed by that party's own terms and policies.
11. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, MATERIALS, AND INFORMATION ON IT (INCLUDING TECHNICAL ARTICLES, CODE SAMPLES, ARCHITECTURE DIAGRAMS, AND PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS) ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any information on it is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. Technical guides and code samples are provided for general educational reference and are not a substitute for reviewing official Milestone MIP SDK or Genetec SDK documentation, or for professional engineering review appropriate to your own deployment.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, XPLUG.IN AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY IS NOT EXCLUDABLE, XPLUG.IN'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE (AS DISTINCT FROM ANY SEPARATE SIGNED SERVICES AGREEMENT, WHICH IS GOVERNED BY ITS OWN LIABILITY TERMS) SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Xplug.in and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14. Copyright / intellectual property complaints
We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect users of the Site to do the same. If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please send a written notice to contact@xplug.in identifying the material you believe is infringing, the work you believe is being infringed, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized. We will review and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material in question.
15. Export control & compliance
Because Xplug.in's services relate to video management, physical security, and access-control systems, you agree to comply with all applicable export control, sanctions, and trade compliance laws in connection with your use of the Site and any resulting engagement, and you represent that you are not located in, or a resident of, any country or region subject to comprehensive trade sanctions, and are not on any restricted-party or denied-persons list maintained by a government authority with jurisdiction over Xplug.in or you.
16. Termination of access
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Site or any part of it — for example, in response to a suspected violation of these Terms, misuse of the contact form, or a security concern. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
17. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Site shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law that may apply in your jurisdiction and cannot be waived, you agree that the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute that is not otherwise resolved through good-faith direct negotiation between the parties. We encourage you to contact us first at contact@xplug.in so we can try to resolve any concern informally.
18. General provisions
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and (where applicable) any separately signed services agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Xplug.in regarding the Site and supersede any prior agreements regarding the Site.
- Assignment — you may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure — we are not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control.
19. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective & last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will, where practicable, be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a revision becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
